We sent your question to our CPA volunteers and received the following response: Since you don't have any employees, it seems that filing for unemployment is the only option for you. That is unless your business is formed as an LLC and you are an employee of the company. Good luck! Stay safe!

We reached out to our CPA volunteers and received the following response: Based upon the information you provided, you would qualify for a $6,000 PPP Loan which can be used for Payroll, Rent, and utilities. However if you want the loan forgiven, you would need to use $4,500 toward payroll and $1,500 toward rent and utilities within the first 8 weeks of the loan funded. I understand this does not cover all of your costs, but this particular loan was made available to help employers keep their employees paid. As of right now the only other option under the SBA is Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). This loan will allow you to cover payroll and non-payroll related costs. To apply you should go to the SBA website (SBA.gov) and follow the COVID-19 link. You may also consider reaching out to your landlord and other vendors to work our payment deferments during this time, many are willing to work with their customers. Many banks are also offering relief through non-SBA Loans, so check with your bank as well.
